Dresden, Germany
was firebombed by the Allies
My Dad's grandparents, who considered themselves too old to emigrate to America with the rest of the family in 1923, perished in the bombing.
Today, Dresden is a flourishing city of culture and elegance. Like Hiroshima, Coventry, and other great cities that suffered devastation, Dresden has emerged as an especially eloquent antiwar statement.
